DUNN LEWIS CENTRE – STAGE 2

The Dunn and Lewis Youth Development Foundation is a Harm Prevention Charity, which services the youth and community by providing infrastructure and delivery of educational, social and vocational programs and activities. In 2012/2013 the Foundation provided in excess of $110,000 to the community through the activities and programs.

The Dunn Lewis Centre is built on Crown Land with a 25 years lease.

The Foundation has raised $6,700,000, ($4.5 million from Government, $2.2 million from Private Trusts, companies and fundraising)

Stage 1 of the Dunn Lewis Centre opened 11 September 2010; comprising 12 lane Bowling Alley, large Lounge area, kiosk, Conference/Function room, 4 Meeting rooms, 74 space car park and gardens (southern side)

Stage 2 Auditorium/Function/Sports Centre, training facility and meeting rooms.

Bulk excavation, Foundations and ground floor slab complete ready for roof and walls to be erected.

Stage 2 will provide numerous additional activities and opportunities for the local community and tourists including;

Senior group activities, large gymnastics groups, sports and recreational groups, dance groups, performing arts, cultural events, climbing walls, visiting and local exhibitions, health related activities, hospitality and tourism, events management.

One of the most significant activities is the potential to provide training spaces for vocational opportunities and traineeships.

We already provide training and work experience however we are developing the site as a registered Skills Centre.

Ulladulla and the regional area have a significant unemployed figures and this will help the local economy.

$2 million will enable the following works to be completed making it a usable space. All Trades are design and construct packages.

The Foundation has the site is already mobilised with field offices, all connections and utilities, temp fencing and safety equipment.
