Bali Memorial Complex Progress
Stage 1
The
first stage of construction
will culminate in the
completion of the building
perimeter and Bowling Alley
installation, the western
toilets, 65 external car parks
and a kiosk. The lounge area
will also be completed. We
anticipate completion of Stage
1 building works by the end of
2009 if the current plan for
progressive fundraising is
maintained and enables the
construction work to continue.
October 2005: The first
set of building plans have
been completed for viewing by
tradespeople. 7 July 2005: 1/2
Million Dollars for Memorial
Project
Persistence and belief in the
local youth has paid off for
Ulladullas Gayle Dunn.
In 2002, two Ulladulla
lives were lost in the Bali
bombing along with 200 other
lives, Federal member
for Gilmore Joanna Gash
said.
Gayle
Dunns vision of a
memorial has finally been
realised with a $550,000 grant
from the Federal Regional
Partnerships Program for the
Dunn and Lewis Youth
Development Memorial
Complex.
These funds will assist with
the cost of construction and
fit out for the new centre. It
will be a permanent memorial
for those who lost their
life's in the Bali
bombings.
Gayle Dunn's drive,
determination and community
spirit has made this happen
along with the support from
Craig and Danny mates and
those around her.
The centre will be recognised
by people across Australia and
Internationally and will
represent the loss of
innocence suffered by our
Country from Terrorist.
