Dunn and Lewis Foundation Ambassador: Angry Anderson

The charitable Foundation launched out of the devastation and tragedy of the 2002 Sari Night Club bombings, Ambassador is Australian rock legend Angry Anderson. The Dunn & Lewis Youth Development Foundation was established by Ulladulla resident Gayle Dunn, after the death of her 18 year old son Craig in the Bali bombings along with his best mate Danny Lewis.

Her story was featured during Saturday 7 October 2006 screening of the confronting TV special 'Bom Bali' on Network TEN, a groundbreaking docudrama that is the most powerful account of the 2002 Bali bombings ever seen on television - featuring the testimony of survivors, the families of the dead and the bombers themselves.

Angry was so moved by Gayle's story, he has pledged to give the Foundation's Capital Appeal his total commitment to ensure that the South Coast Mum's dream becomes reality.

The Foundation was established with the purpose of establishing the Dunn & Lewis Youth Memorial Centre as a facility that would re-invigorate the notion of family and community in a part of regional Australia that has a chronic need for such a facility. With a significant indigenous population, as well as high youth unemployment, the Centre will provide hope for not only young people on the South Coast of NSW but for youth Australia wide, especially those impacted by trauma; family, accident or criminally related issues, including terrorism.

Angry (Gary Anderson) has been a long term supporter of charitable causes and was acknowledged with an Advance Australia Award in 1986, an AM in 1993 and the Special Merit Advance Australia Award in 1995. Angry has a strong empathy with Australia's youth having confronted many of the problems this appeal will alleviate, and its connection with the tragedy of the Bali bombings has struck a real chord with the Rose Tattoo front man.

The community and charity work of Angry Anderson initially came to the public's attention through the "Challenge" series on the Nine Network. This is yet another challenge the wild man of rock is looking forward to with great relish.
