Educational courses

The Foundation has endeavoured to provide programs and educational courses that address the needs of local youth and in recent years the wider community.

2006 – 2011 the main clients were 15-17 year olds that had disengaged from all formal education. We filled the need by providing recognised qualifications to enable the young person to obtain employment. We also ran self esteem, life skills courses. To provide these courses the Foundation Partnered with TAFE, Youth Centre, Wesley Uniting, Mission Australia, Comet Training, Campbell Page, RTOs relative to course and professional counsellors.

2012 The educational system changed to ensure all young people remained in the formal school system until they turned 17years old or completed year 12 HSC. These changes have affected the programs we can deliver to young people as it is illegal for young people to leave school before turning 17, they can not receive benefits, RTOs TAFE and further educational trainer can not enrol students.

Early 2012 the Foundation joined a committee of all agencies involved in youth services lead by Ulladulla High School to address the issues surrounding young people who were struggling to comply to the new rules and became disengaged from school or very disruptive. The solution was the school has partnered with youth agencies to deliver programs external of school but all students remain enrolled at Ulladulla High.

The Foundation partners with UHS by providing a venue, equipment, resources, mentoring and practical work experience.
